DESIGN PROCESS :

  • Competitor Analysis

  • Personas

  • The Design

  • The Outcome

Objective :

The career site is a key candidate touchpoint, given that all of the applicants that interact with, it also serves as a critical source of information for it. This newly revamped Career site needs to be able to:

  • Simplify hiring to empower leaders to secure the right talent to meet Cisco's growth strategy

  • Engage in a seamless hiring process from candidate to onboarding

  • Elevate talent to accelerate Cisco's growth

  • Streamline the talent acquisition process with the best process design and technology

COMPETITIVE ANALYSIS :

Design and Ideation :

Information gathered from our teams research led me to create six total personas that helped me identify key users needs when applying for a job within Cisco. The persona developed also were used as a guide for specific participants needed for Usability Testing in the future.

Implementation :

Introduced a simplified process map to reduce unnecessary effort. Redesigned how the team completes debugging information through our master bug excel sheet and Integrated chart and alert systems for better team collaboration.

The design : In-development feature currently in internal testing / preparing for launch Nov. 10th

the outcome :

Users are engaging with our modernized Careers site more than ever before. The addition of new features - such as a chat bot and clearer navigation for finding information about Cisco's opportunities - has led to highly positive results within our testing so far.

Project takeaways

The objective of the Hiring Optimization project was to create an interface that allowed candidates to seamlessly gather the necessary information to apply to the right job, while allowing internal Cisco leaders to engage with the hiring process.

Future Roadmaps

Time constraints and Phenom's ability to handle specific features that the Career Site needed ultimately impacted our design process, but not the Users overall need for an updated interface. From Usability Testing we were able to understand:

  • Features Usability: Conducting Usability Testing allowed us as Designers to understand how the overall interface and widgets usability could impact the overall experience of users on the Career site; we found value in minimizing some of the features that we originally planned pre-launch.

  • Accessibility Concerns: Users accessibility is critical and should always be reviewed to ensure that the platform follows standardized practices.

  • Recommendations for Upcoming Updates: Develop and communicate 'post-launch' plans that give users something to look forward to after the official launch. This approach will ensure the career site continues to grow while keeping users needs and engagement a priority.

moving forward :

The launch of our new Careers site may present some initial issues. I was tasked with developing a post-launch debugging plan to effectively address any user experiences problems that may arise.

While time constraints added extra pressure beyond just meeting user needs, the platform has already delivered significant business value.

  • Improving the Business Profile: Ongoing usability testing has made the Careers site more user-friendly. However, due to limited time and platform constraints, there may have been missed opportunities for further refinement.

  • Accessibility: User accessibility should be continuously reviewed to ensure the site adheres to established standards.
